Dark reddish-brown with small beige top, modest retention. Aroma of malts, toffee, dried fruits and pear. Taste of light roast, toffee, treacle hint, raisins, dried fruits, hint of chocolate. Medium bodied. Its a good malty beer but for the style it lacks a bit in the ABV and with it that warming alcohol note. Still tasty though.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A golden brown pour with a rim of white head; sweet earthy aroma; rather thin in the mouth with a sugary malty body and some earthiness; then a touch of ginger adding warmth in the finish.

Can from Beer52. It pours slightly hazy deep brown with a bubbly khaki head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, cola, raisin, sultana, caramel, molasses, gingersnaps, ryvita and toasted. The taste is dry, nutty upfront, bitter - sweet, treacle, toffee, cola, dried fruits, toasted fruit cake, some spice, Jamaican gingerbread, earth and some woody tannin with a drying finale. Average body and moderate, bubbly carbonation. Decent and drinkable, but lacks depth. Think this would been good ramped up to a higher abv.
