Poured thick for a 6%, near black with small tanned head. Very inviting aroma of chocolate, pecan, brioche, malt, caramel hint. Taste it nutty with chocolate, toffee, milky coffee, sugars, hint of dark fruit and almond. Mid to full bodied, slick but chewy in the finish with a moderate bitterness.

Can from Beer52. Black body with a thick tan head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of pecan pie, coffee and rich chocolate cake. Flavour of raspberry jam, maple syrup, pecan and milk chocolate. Medium to full body with a silky smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is utterly superb.

0.33 l can, Beer 52 Package, thanks to Višnja 666 who brought it from London, shared with Ade McSquid and her. Dark brown to black, small beige head. Chocolate and pecan aroma, chocolate ice-cream. Candy aroma. Smooth texture, roasty touch. Slightly too sweet, generally good balance. Minimal bitterness. Light finish. One-sided but nice.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy black pour with a fast fading chocolate coloured head; aroma of pecans, chocolate and richly roasted malts; smooth with a sweet nutty taste and a sustained roasted coffee bitterness. Very good but a little too sweet for me.

Can from Beer52. It pours darkest brown to black with a quickly dissipating khaki head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, slick, oily, dark roasted malt, plenty of chocolate, touch of toffee, vanilla, nutty, pecan pie, praline and cookie dough. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, vanilla, chocolate gateaux, cake frosting, nuttiness, praline, pecan pie, walnut, scorched earth, slightly charred oak and dark roasted malt with a slick, umami finish. Medium++ body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. Delivers a pretty impressive 6% version of this pastry stout.

Short light brown head on a near black still body. Shortbread, malt, coffee & dark chocolate aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth silky & sticky on the back. Dark chocolate, demerara, lactose, nutty & chocolate fudge cake tastes. Outstanding
