In an era of renewed Russian imperialism, we bring you a very traditional imperial stout. As smooth as the Volga and as bonkers as Putin - the traditionally high finishing gravity makes for a thick weighty complex dark beer.

Loads of velvet. Venezuelan raw chocolate. Soft malts. Loads of Icelandic caramel sweets in a glass. Toffee biscuits. Twix bar. Gateaux cake. Blackcurrant. Really excellent malt profile. Stunning job.

Cask @ Leeds Brewery Tap, Leeds. Black with a thick creamy-frothy light brown head. Potent with its coffee, there’s a decent flavour of this too but its strength dominates here, uncomfortably so.
