Bottle from the Beer Emporium, Bristol, Saturday 30th May 2015 consumed in Frank with Lynn and Barry Pours light amber in colour with a white head. Aroma is citrussy but a bit muted. Taste also starts with a little citrus burst but there is a bit of tropicalness going on here as well, but flavours are a little indistinct and wishy-washy. Blue Monkey in a bottle just don’t seem anywhere near as good as they do in cask. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Craft Islington. Cask. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Sweetish pale malts. Sweetish floralness in the mid. Tangy citric peel, marmalade and with traces of tangerine and lemon. Light semi dry finish. Nice hop fruits and floralness here.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Clear, pale amber. Film of sticky, white head. Sweaty, chewy, fusty malts. Big, chewy, orange hop. Big aroma overall. I’d have guessed at easy 6%. Taste is fruity, orangey sweet. Light dry. Big, pithy, zesty bitter. Full palate. Oily, and zesty bitter finish. Punches well over its weight, this. Not the most refined IPA, but it’s chunky and tasty. Very good.
