The Japanese word Kogarashi represents a cool wind that ushers in winter, and that sentiment matches beautifully with this crisp and refreshing winter beer. Pair it with sushi or sip it after the slopes. Prost!

Brewery draught, 2/2/25.
Clear deep golden. Small, white head.
Spicy hop with a bit of sweet malt/rice. Clean with crisp hop and mineral.
A bit of paper throughout the texture with a touch of apple. Not sweet but could be more crispy on the finish too. Honestly, this seems a bit sloppy and rushed.

Grass nose. Crystal clear golden, thin head. Clean, very light grass. Light body, easy carbonation. Good for what it is.

Pours clear yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet meadow and hay aromas. Crisp and sweet with cracker, biscuit and hay front to back.

4pack at home grabbed from brewpub. Thought I missed this one. Golden with white head. Nose and tastes of rice, light citrus, floral, cracker. Light bodied and crisp.

16 oz can from Wegmans. So, is this meant to have more rice than the average American light lager? Let's find out. Pours a slight haze and a golden color under a puffy head that dwindles away quickly. The smell is basically a light beer smell. Not bad. The taste acquits itself pretty nicely. A biscuity malt taste, erring just a tad on the side of sweetness. Another fine lawn mower beer that stands up to the heat of summer, even if the label says it's intended for winter drinking.
