Amber and malty, full flavoured bitter.
Nefariously drinkable, equanimously malty, strong English ale. A harmonious blend of malt & hops that leaves you wanting more.

Matteo’s Ciao @ Craft Islington. Thanks to Chris. Lightly hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry, decent carbonation. Caramel malts, oxidised tasting. Ripe fruits, Light dry finish. Tired tasting and tiresome.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Chris. Pours clear copper with a creamy tan head. The nose has toasty bread, light grains. Light sweet flavour with brown bread, dry caramel, toasted biscuits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more toasted biscuits, a little earth. Enjoyable.

Hazed deep golden color with a small white layer on top. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a bit to soft carbonation level. Malty, mild bready and fruity flavor. Not very inviting this one. Mostly because it was to flat and warm.

Cask at the Falcon, High Wycombe, 05/12/15. Clear golden with a decent light beige covering. Nose is bready malt, straw, grain, light citric. Taste comprises bread dough, biscuit, straw, faint orange. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. Ok ... doesn’t set my beer world alight but nothing wrong with this one.

Bottle from the Blue Glass, Bedford. Mid-brown, looks a bit thin. Reasonable carbonation. Very little head. Malt, cereal and hazelnut aroma. A lot more bitter than I expected, slightly astringent. Some of the nuttiness of the malt comes out in the finish. Despite the thinnish body, it’s got a nice texture. Verdict: a decent enough beer when all is said and done. A bit different from similar malty ESBs.
