17/10/2024. Draft at Bombay Bräu, Heaundae, Busan. Had been hoping to get Bombay Bräu beers here, but they only had Platinum beers and of those the IPA was off, so got the “Pilsner Lager” which I assume is the same as “Pils”. Poured hazy golden amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is fruity, grainy, malty, caramel. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Average to soft carbonation. Went well with the Indian food, and was better than what you’d get in most curry houses back home.

This is one of the beers that, if I'm not mistaken, Platinum makes for a corner store chain, CU. For some reason, they took the time to make a really good pilsner. Actually quite dry, lots of noble hop character, clean pale malts. Beer a beer that's nationally distributed in corner stores, this is good stuff and it became a staple for us outside of Seoul.

5.1% On tap. Clear gold. The nose is off putting old egg, metallic vegetal earthy flavor that isn’t terrible but isn’t all that pils like. Bleh. Just a bizarre aroma/taste. This is off.
