Hopped thoroughly with Cascade, backed up with a bit of Southern Cross & Motueka, it's a deep dark beer with enough roast to balance all the floral notes. Black IPA may be less trendy these days but it's no less tasty.

Cask at Ealing Beer Fest 25. Dark. Frothy foamy beige head. Aroma combines espresso, charcoal and a berry edge. Flavourwise it's a bitter club over the head. Cold brew coffee and charcoal. Vague berry notes. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Very bitter but lacks nuance

500ml bottle. Pours black with a massive beige head taking ages to settle, lasts the duration of the beer. Aroma of roasty, earthy malts, citrusy, piney hops. Taste is the same, fruity hops, orange rind, piney, earthy, dark malts, roasty bitterness, the malts seem to win the battle with the hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.
