Bottle recently purchased from the HotD website - still dark amber - Lots of chocolate, leather, tannic notes, deep rye whiskey on the back end - finish is deep lingering oak, red wine, treacle, light smoke - the very far end is super warming but not boozy, with notes of plum and currant - sweeter and not quite as deep as the bourbon-aged Adam, but still dang good.
Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2022, Friday Session. A very dark brown beer with a white lacing. Aroma and Taste of intense wood, whiskey, strong malt, vanilla, boozy finish.

Draught Black beer with a grey rim. Bourbon, vanilla, rum, I rumbonen /I, chocolate. Perfumed, whisky or Bourbon. Definitely sweet but not a trace of excess. Perfumey and also a special feel from the rye. Awfully strong (12% indicated, instead of 12.4). Another great one from Alan.

Clear purple brown beer, small creamy aery beige head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: nice, caramel, dried fruits, earthy, some vanilla, lovely smell, very subtle yet complex. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, lots of alcohol, bitter notes, caramel, vanilla, lovely! Aftertaste: gentle bitterness, good roast, some alcohol, sweet, rye, vanilla, a bit sourish, alcoholic finish, lovely sipping ale!

355 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, thanks!
Dark brown body, with a small, dark beige head.
Aroma of bourbon, sherry, dark fruits, booze, dark chocolate, some toffee.
Tastes similar, with some more tobacco.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes medium sweet, moderate roasty, medium boozy, with bourbon, cherry, chocolate, dark fruits.
Very nice. Heavy and thick, with greatly integrated bourbon barrel. Quite typical bourbon BA ale. Comfortable, warming sipper.

Bottle shared by Douglas, cheers. 2015 vintage. A dark deep brown verging on black. Hugely rich boozey savoury umami aroma with whiskey and oak accents. Full bodied and velvety smooth with tons of oak and berries. This was seriously tasty stuff.

2015 bottle thanks to Douglas. Huge rye whisky nose, smoke, honey. Almost black. Low head but almost flat. A bit boozy for sure, with woody rye, cherry, honey, and a nice tartness as well. Huge barrel. Awesome fun stuff.
