Old Coffee House. Light haze on this dark brown - red beer. Bubbly mid tan head. Palate is smooth and light, semi dry. Light refreshing minerals. Smooth dark malts, mild with very mild roast. Shade of unsweet dark toffee. Whisper of red fruits. Good hop backbone. Finishes dry with some hop bitterness starting to come through. Decent beer.

Cask at the Old Coffee House, London. Pours cloudy brown with a light, tan foam head. Big roasted malt and coffee aroma, lots of burnt grass and earth. Light to medium sweet flavor, lots of burnt toast, bitter earth and charred grass, moderate baking cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Very dry on the finish, lightly abrasive burnt and bitter grass, earth, charred wood and baking cocoa, touches of coffee. Nice.

Cask at the Old Coffee House, Soho - 11/09/12. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that retained well. Aroma comprised toffee, biscuit, pine, roast malt, hops and soy sauce. Toffee, fruits, cocoa and some nutiness in the taste allied to bitter hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation with a dry and slightly smoked finish.
