Paying homage to its IPA roots with traditional dry hopping. We throw in columbus, cascade and chinook hops and roasty chocolate and crystal malts to give this beer its dark colour. Unrefined Indian jaggery sugar gives this beer its rich full flavour.

Very dark brown colour with lasting head. Loads of bitter roasted malts. Very hoppy too. Really packs a punch.

Pours a deep brown, near black, with a tinge of ruby read, a frothy beige head and an aroma of roasted malt with hints of coffee. Has a slightly oily mouthfeel, with roasted malt flavours and hop bitterness combining nicely, and finishes dry and bitter

Can from Lidl. Near black in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Leafy hops, jammy berry fruit, a hint of chocolate, toasty malts and a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

330ml can, via Lidl: BB 1st May 2021. Drank at home on 16th Aug 2020. Deep ruby hue to the dark brown body, huge beige foaming head. Singed/burnt malty nose and taste, fairly bitter flavours from the said malts, hidden hops add more bitterness.

330ml can from Lidl. My first Black IPA and no idea what to expect. Pours black, large beige head with some retention and lacing. Roasted malt aroma with a bit of chocolate and dark fruits. Taste is the same at first but gives way a lighter hoppy pine note before a dry bitterness kicks in. Medium bodied and soft carbonation works well. Half porter, half IPA, don't you just love the creative potential of beer? There must still be some new exciting styles yet to be created. Anyway this is a good beer and definitely worth a try.
