Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 2016, National Winter Ales Festival (2016), The Roundhouse, Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire, England, DE24 8JE. [ As Cloudwater Winter Range - Stout ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate hoppy, grapefruit, light licorice hops - licorice wood. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, licorice, wood, hoppy, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. IMO. more like a Black IPA ! [20160217]

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, chestnut brown. Thick, bubbly, light tan head. Nose is woody and vinous. Some chocolate malts. Some tangy, citrus hop, that seems a tad out of place. Taste has hop bitterness. Quite dry. Little in the way of sweetness. Light body. Long bitter finish. Doesn’t work, for me. It’s more BIPA than anything.

Gravicask shared with Finn at Camra’s National Winter Ales Festival. Beige, bubbly head. Jet black body. Black malty nose with a chocolate twist. Flavoured with chocolate malts and mid-dry lemony hops. Leafy and roasted bitterness to the finish. Easy to drink, not diluted at all. A nice one (Derby 17.02.2016).

Old Fountain. Cask. Clear dark red - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, some roasty presence. Tangy ripe fruits before a dry roasty finish. Mild roasty bitter linger. It’s okay.
