He-fe-wei-zen: distinguished by its creamy texture and refreshing flavours, hefeweizen is made from wheat and malted barley, brought together by our signature weizen yeast. This unfiltered beer remains cloudy in order to build the complexity of its native flavours.

Sampled on tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma and flavour are extremely weak, of biscuit, banana and a hint of spice. Very watery and weak. What's the point of making something this piss watery?

Draught at St. Augustine, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color. The aroma is light, sweetish. Mild wheat flavor, sweetish mouthfeel too, with no spices, low fruits, low bitterness.
Very basic Hefeweizen.

12 oz bottle from CapFlu. Thanks Todd! Nose of grainy wheat, lemon, and a yeasty vegetal note. Lightly hazy yellow with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Flavor is fairly strong lemony tartness that overpowers very light fruitiness. Is this really a hefe?

Cloudy whitish-yellow but with no head. Has a footy hefe smell with only a hint of banana. Tart, footy, and bland. This is a big fail...why do they make non-hoppy beers?

341 ml bottle purchased at "The Strath" Ale, Wine and Spirit Merchants at the Strathcona Hotel in Victoria, BC. Shop worker mentioned this was a new beer for Phillips and recommended it. Pour is white yellow with a one inch white head. Hazy and cloudy. Aroma is straight hefe; bananas, cloves, fruity yeastiness. Taste is the nose, though a bit dirty tasting. The finish on this did not hold together very well, getting almost chemical tasting at the end. The flavors were not integrated too well. The palate was light without being watery, and this was easy too drink.
