Hazy amber, small offwhite froth. Fruity aroma, some malt, light yeast and dried fruit. Caramely, dried fruit flavour. A little yeasty, very light phenolic notes. For the Belgian twist, I guess. Nice.

33 cl bottle poured in to a Snifter. Label says batch # 01. BB February 2017. Slightly hazy amber colour. No head. Sweet aroma with rich caramel malts, toasted notes, sweet, overripe fruits. Hints of booze. Yeasts. Taste is sweet. Full body with an oily texture and a flat carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with caramel malts, sweet fruits, yeasts and spicy notes. As the beer warms up, some booze. A pleasant experience, albeit not a superb Barley Wine.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, dark amber with tiny impurities and a small, creamy off-white head. Nose is a little herbal, medicinal, subtle yeast. Rich, malty body, lowish carbonation, nutty, strong. Not overly complex, and certainly not overly Belgian. But a decent beer - at least for the booze. 100816

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Almost clear deep reddish amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth. Malts are comparatively light and bring cream and caramel. Modest ripe fruits. Berry fruits. LIttle marmalade. Light spice before a semi dry finish, Creamy sweet linger. Drinkable and tasty but lacks the depth of the best.
