On tap. Pours black with moderate nitro head. Aromas of creamy roasted malts. Flavors of dry acidic black coffee, powdery roasted malts, and creamy dark chocolate. Dusty and dry helped out a bit with nitro.

Dark brown, toasted, bit roasty and some fruity character. Not balanced or anything but has some merits.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
The color is almost black; creamy brownish head. Mild aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Smooth mouthfeel, quite strong roasted malt flavor, some dark chocolate, very low residual sweetness; the roasted character blends with the strong resiny bitterness, the result is on the excessive side.
A bit too roasty for me, but it’s still good to drink an Imperial Stout now and then.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a reddish tinge and a medium tan head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, light oats and cocoa. Flavour is rich, with robust roasted malt, dry cocoa and oats. Rich and bitter in a nice way. Soft palate. Very good.

Poured from the tap. Black with tan head. Subdued chocolate and coffee with mild ash. Nice balance, solid but not spectacular.

On tap in PDX. Pours a pitch black color with a small beige head. A big spicy licorice and roast nose. Big roast, ash, chocolate, more licorice, some dark fruit. Overall, a pretty well rounded and drinkable impy. Nice brew.
