Handpump at Southampton Arms in London. Orange/amber clean bright color, off-white creamy foam. Nose: yeasty and hops. Very nice noble hops nose. Mouth: rich malty notes and sparkling spicy finish a bit bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, 20 April 2016) Amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel and slightly earthy hops. Malty taste with bread, dried fruit, raisins, hints of yeast and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Balanced and tasty bitter. Quite nice.

Cask (gravity) @ Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival (2014), Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EL. [ As 360° Sussex Best ].ABV: 4.2%. Clear medium amber color with a small to average, open and frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, earthy - nutty notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, earthy, caramel, toasted, fruity, citrus, ash. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141011]

Cask at the Queens Head, Brighton. Topaz coloured pour with a white head. Nuts, toffee and caramel aroma which segues into the flavour. Lots of caramel malt on the palate. Malty sweet finish.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Mr. Butler. The nose holds some toasted grains, orange rind. Light-medium sweet flavor with smoky off notes, bread, meat, caramel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with faint leafy hops, some toffee, berries, a bit more smoky notes, bread. Not great.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 8/1/2015. Deep copper in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweetish cereal malts, some leafy hops, whiff of sulphur before a decent, bitter, finish. Good.

Bottle shared with AshtonMcCobb. I’m too Sussexy for this Tasting. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head. Aromas of butterscotch and stewed apples, light caramel. Taste is more of the same, light honeycomb sweetness. Finishes a bit sticky.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - hazy amber. Like dark how perhaps. Nose - biscuits chocolate and caramel. Honeycomb. Apples on the finish. Taste - more Crunchie Bar. Apples again too. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - almost very good but just lacking a bit of length.

Bottle at Brighton Beer Dispensary. It pours dark amber with a small, bubbly white head. The nose is plum, date, red grape, caramel and toast. The taste is dried fruits, plum, caramel, toasty, wood and varnish with a dry, toasty finish. Nice fruity character to it. Decent enough.
