Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy amber with an off-white head. Intensely herbal hop aroma. Solid body, sweet malt, somewhat honeyish again with an not entirely pleasant herbal hoppiness. Bitter finish. Not the most refined DIPA. 250711

Bottled. A hazy red beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Shared bottle at local tasting, as Bell’s 25th Anniversary Ale. Hazy amber colour, low off-white head. Strong sweetish aroma, bordering on "sickly". Sweet and alcoholic flavour, also resinous hops. Not my favourite this one.

Bottle. Pours a clear ruby amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty sweetish hoppy weak piney aroma with hints of dark fruit. Sweetish malty caramel anda dark fruit flavor with bitter hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter dark fruit finish.

12oz bottle. Somehow managed to not rate this one until now, though I had it when it came out on tap. Ruby red-amber, frothy off-white head. Piny, sweet, resinous hop aroma, some light toffee tones as well. A rather well executed IIPA, not overwhelming, but full of hops, and a rich malt backbone. Pleasantly unfiltered, gives it a light doughiness. Clean, but just not quite fantastic. Still certainly above par. Good stuff.

Bottle from the batch brewed in August ’10. So we’re not talking super-fresh IPA here. As it is, Bell’s 25th tastes like a nine-month old DIPA. Super-super malty, with a heart of cane syrup on buttered wheat waffles. The hops pop up, but only as shadows of what they once must have been. The alcohol springs up as the beer warms, and the beer gets quite sweet. Wish I’d come across this bottle when it was new.

bottle - Pours amber-orange with a small off-white head. The aroma is of lightly toasted malt, dark fruit (I’m thinking cherry), citrus, and some woody character. The flavor is fairly sweet. There’s ample hops present too, but not really the usual IIPA level of bitterness. This one seems like more of a hybrid style to me. It’s good anyway.

12 oz bottle purchased at Gomers in Lees Summit, Missouri. Batch 9871, packaged on August 12, 2010. Pour is a hazed golden ruby with a one inch light tan head that breaks up with larger foam bubbles. Aroma is lightly sweet caramel malt, some light grassiness and a touch of vegetal earthiness. OK nose, but this does have some age on it. Taste is the malt, nice and full and bready toasty along with only mildly sweet biscuit. The grassy hay is the finish, and cuts the malt and leads to a clean dry finish. Taste was much cleaner than the nose. The taste of this is like a lighter bodied Barley Wine, which worked for me. Palate is medium bodied, unfiltered and the dry finish. Would have liked to taste this fresh as a comparison, but as is, still nice.
