Bottle on the train bro. It pours murky deep amber with a medium white head. The nose is stewed orange, guava, dried mango, apricot jam and earth. The taste is bitter, resinous, boozy, chewy malt, orange peel, grapefruit, pepper and marmalade with a dry finish. Medium body and.moderate carbonation. A bit chewy perhaps, but not bad.

IPA? Nope this is Imperial. Very hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth and very slightly viscous. Modest fine carbonation. The malts are sweet but also fairly thin. Hops are smooth pine, mild spice and a little thin marmalade. Smooth finish. It’s a rich DIPA but pretty smooth and drinkable.

Keg at Cloisters. Hazy golden body with a tight white head. Lively carbonation (always nice to see on a DIPA to help ’lift’ any sweetness). Excellent lacing. Aroma of pineapple, mango and apple. Light peppery finish. Flavour of pine needles, green mango and a spicy finish. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. A sensational, fruity DIPA. If this was bottled I’d certainly stock up.

Keg at the herriot watt... Hazy amber... Thin white lacing... Soft sweet fruits.. Big oily cheesy nose... Deep fruits.. Oily hop.. Soft fruits... Loads of hops.. Bitter hops... Could do with a brighter more floral fruit front
