Black Hops is a distinctive Black "IPA" of 4.6% abv, brewed with East Anglian Malt and 3 types of American hops. Rather than the somewhat contradictory description of black "IPA" we are calling it an India Black Ale or IBA.

Transparent black color with a off white head. Some lacing. Moderate in the aroma. Medium (-) body and a soft carbonation level. Semi dry texture and a decent bitterness. Coffee, roast, grapefruit hoppy and mild fruity flavor. Decent session bipa, just a bit thin body.

Cask at Kings Head in Norwich, shared with friends. Tiny beige head over a brown coloured body. Berry fruits on the nose, hints of dark malts. Blended taste dark fruits, brown malts and resinous bitterness towards the ending. Medium bodied. Pretty nice (18.02.2017).

Cask at the Kings Head, Norwich. Pours deep chestnut brown with a lasting off white head. Aroma of hop, light chocolate, dark fruit. Light sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body and slight sticky texture, carbonation is soft.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2015, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Golden Triangle Black Hops IBA ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, fruity, wood, light pine. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, dark malt, fruity, wood, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours clear brown with a small beige head. The nose is soft, rich roast, red fruits, jam, dried berry and dull pine notes. The taste is bitter, charred wood, toast, roasted malt, leather, bitter-sweet character and pepper. Medium body and fine carbonation. Simple and easy-going. Not particularly hoppy in my opinionโฆ

Cask at GBBF 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear, reddish brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has minerals, toasty malts, faint roast. Light sweet flavor, quite dry, with toasty grains, more minerals, light oily pine. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly rindy and resinous on the finish. Not bad.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Mildly roasty dark malts. Dry dark unsweet chocolate. Mild citric tang, Dry finish with a mild roasty linger. Should be a lot hoppier methinks.
