Bottled. Reddish amber colour with a mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is herbal, hayish, some mild toasted and mildly spiced elements. Flavour is nutty, some hay and citrus with mild strange earthy bitterness to it. Dry palate.

Bottle. Gusher. Pours clear amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and bread, with some notes of hops and yeast. Sour flavour (off/infected!) wit notes of grain and some hoppy touches. Sour afteraste. Needs re-rating. 2 months past the BBD.

Bottle, 5.5%. Slow gusher. Sour and infected aroma. Clear shiny dark amber colour. Extremely big rocky off-white head, overcarbonated from an infection, I am sure. The flavour is sourish, not so acidic, more like an old kitchen rag that has been left to dry. Unfortunately this seems to be standard for bottled Braunstein these days.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy, reddish amber with an off-white head. Caramellish nose with a slight, lurking tartness. Medium body, again quite some caramel, somewhat dusty. But far from the worst Braunstein in recent years. 131015
