Cask, handpump at The Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham, Tuesday 25th November 2014. Off to gig to see Perfume Genius at Oobleck, Custard Factory. Clearly this quite a malty beer but there is a slight tang. The strength is noticeable and actually with a bitterness that surprises somewhat. A little rustic but quite punchy. Ok. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth. Mid- to dark mahogany brown. Slight haze. Aroma not up to much: some black cherry, malt, a bit of vinegar. The taste allays my fears: sweet, full and malt-led. Slight hints of forest fruit, molasses. A tangy bitterness in the finish. Good.
