Cask @ Manchester & County, Manchester. Darker clear amber with a head. It has some sweetness in its aroma and taste, subduing its bitterness to low levels, although remains a bitter in design.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel JDW Ashford. Clear mid brown colour lasting beige head. Cracking condition. Good brown malt flavour. Some best bitter sweetness. Some nutty quality to it. Bery much on a brown best bitter style. Light dryness on the finish. Good temperature and carbonation

[Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley.] A slightly hazy amber pour with a tight beige head; malty aroma; biscuity malt taste; and a fruity finish.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours “bitter brown” with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and caramel in the aroma, plus some hints of floral hops. In the mouth it starts out fairly sweet and smooth, but a tad watery. After awhile this switches to a mix of hops plus caramel and some spices and herbs. Finish is slightly dry and spicy. This is reasonable.
