5th September 2021 Hazy amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a tidy level of caramel and cream sweetness. Earthy coffee, doesn't get gritty, possibly due to the light touch of smooth vanilla. Touch of ripe fruits on the back end. Smooth semi dry finish. Well it delivers the coffee and vanilla just fine but that seems to be it. No underlying barleywine depth or complexity. Quite drinkable but runs out of attention grabbing qualities pretty fast.
