The Hallertau Blanc hop is another German grown, American cascade descendant and related to the stunning Huell Melon. It’s renowned for the striking white wine flavours it imparts, with crisp gooseberry and grape joined by joyous touches of melon and passionfruit.

Can at home, from Thornbridge online, 08/04/23. Clear golden blonde with a well presented white head. Nose is pale malts, lemon rind, herb, light pine needle, grass, orange zest, melon. Taste comprises sharp citric zest, trace of yuzu, pine nip, ripe melon, bitter orange, grass, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with balanced juicy come leafy hop bitterness. Solid crisp and clean drinking pale.

5th October 2022 Can. Pretty much a clear and slightly paleish gold beer, small bubbly white head. Palate is light and mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts but delivering enough sweetness, touch of creamy sweetness. Hallertau Blanc shows its noble hop character here with a spicy floral bitterness. A bit of lagerish vibe through the mid. A gentler grapey vibe on the back end, slightly tangy and nicely juicy and with a decent gooseberry streak. Light crisp bitterish finish. Another impressive single hop showcase from Thornbridge. Really like the close up inspection of the hop character delivered in a light APA manner.

440ml can from Thornbridge Beer Club - Clear gold body, fairly heavy white top. Nose is citrus, but of resin, some grassiness. Taste is the strong point, really fresh hoppy citrus front, clean and slightly bitter at the back. Not been a massive fan of this series, all been a bit meh, this one though has pushed it to what I know the Thornbridge lot can do.

Large tight white head left a rocky froth on a clear pale golden coloured body. Light malt, grain & nutty aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a much lighter clean back. Malt, nutty, light citrus & peppery tastes with a tangy & white wine finish. Seems to be lacking in hops but quite moorish.

Can. Thornbridge subscription box. Crystal clear pale gold. Sticky sudsy white foam. Nose has sweet lemony hop. Clean dry malt. Some grassy peppery notes. Taste is light sweet to start with a moderate grassy slightly earthy bitterness. Clean and refreshing with fine brisk carbonation. Moderate bitterness to finish. It doesn’t pop too much, but it’s a well made easy drinking pow wow.
