[ As Clarkshaws Hellhound IPA ].Unclear - hazy matt medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, biscuit malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, dried fruit, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, riped fruit, hoppy, fruity, biscuit malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150811]

English style IPA with thick, creamy, off-white head and hazy brownish amber colour, of the darker hue often distinguishing classic English IPAs from their modern American offspring. Pleasant aroma of strawberry, flowers, biscuit, peach, some caramel. Soft fruity taste with a peachy touch to it, some smooth caramel sweetishness lingering in the finish where it is accompanied by a gentle, noble, floral hop bitterness. Decent, albeit not the most exciting example of the (sub)style.

Bottle (batch 1, bottle #13) from Good Taste, Crystal Palace. It pours hazy orange-amber with a medium off-white head. Some floaters on the go also. The nose is earthy, spicy, grass, wood, stewed orange and brown sugar. The taste is bitter, earthy, resin, spice, dull smoke, wood, leather, brown bread and toasty grass with a dry, spicy finish. Decent enough for an English-hopped IPA type job.

Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Doughy pale malts in the nose with hints of butter. Light-medium sweet flavor with faint orange meringue, white bread and pine needles. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate ripe citrus to finish with dry, pale bread. OK.
