Dark amber with a dark off white head - Good caramel malt aroma - Nice malt body with some caramrel and olso some hints of alcohol heat, which i did not expect - Malts in the finish - This was nice

500ml bottle. Courtesy of Rune. Thanks! Dark brown, unclear muddy, small head and good lacing. Roasted coffee, chocolate and dark fruits aroma. Very pleasant! Tastes dark fruits, coffee and chocolate as well. Slightly droolish and bitter sweet finish. Great beer for cuddling up under a blanket, reading a book! (18.06.14@Rating Session XXXVI)

500ml bottle, batch 986, brought back home from Vinmonopolet Vika Oslo. Unclear brownish body, fawn-coloured head. Spotty lacing down the glass. Smell of brown malts, ash and dusty hops. Coffee-caramel flavours joined by almond and offset by bitter dark fruits, slightly roasted. Well bodied and balanced. Masked alcohol. Enjoying (shared with Finn, Jan-Erik, Elisabeth and Stefan, Tromsø 18.06.2014).

Flaske 0,5 l - batch 986 - spandert av Rune. Delt i godt selskap på Nerstranda 18 Jun 14. Mørkebrun/svart. Gjørmete. Pent, litt farget skum. God aroma av mørk frukt. Smaken er røstet malt & sjokolade. Syrlig bitter. Ettersmak av kaffe.

Pours dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits and hint of alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long bready, caramel and fruity finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

duft av frukt. Mye tykt skum. Dunkel brun farge. God smak av frukter, krydder med noe karbonering.

First rating: Big beige shiny head. Deep dark red body. Roasty sugar and dried fruit aroma with spicy cedar wood notes. Dry-sweet peppery roasted sugar taste with fruity earthy notes. Fizzy, slightly hot mouthfeel. Mid-to-full body. Dry earthy funky syrupy aftertaste with oily peppery spicy bubblegum notes. It’s not bad, but the fermentation hasn’t been entirely successful. (0.5l bottle at Olympen, Oslo. Batch #986.) 6,4,6,3,12=3.1

Second rating: Gusher, but caught it in time. Big beige lasting head. Clear deep dark red body with strong carbonation. Wooden lacquer and syrup aroma with earthy wooden notes. Sweet-dryish earthy syrupy spicy taste with sugary notes. Full-bodied. Slightly hot mouthfeel. Dryish spicy earthy candy aftertaste with toffee and syrup notes. Something’s off with the fermentation, but it’s still a good beer. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.) 6,4,6,3,13=3.2

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff des-13:særdeles højt og varig cremeskum. En nydelig dobbelbock med mørke bær og dyr dessertsjokolade. Et lekkert snev av kaffe (med karamell) sniker seg inn i avslutningen. Deilig.

500 ml bottle, as Nøgne Ø Monkey Brew Primator Doppelbock, at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8%. Deep reddish brown colour, huge and lasting off-white to beige head. Attractive malty and sweetish aroma, notes of caramel and pastry, some fruity notes too. Sweet (but not too much), malty and rich flavour, notes of caramel and dark dried fruits. Delicious - a fine doppelbock in my book.
