IPA - Black / Cascadian Dark Special Out of Production
Score
6.85
ABV: 7.2% IBU: - Ticks: 6
A special beer to mark the one year anniversary of our brewers, Colin & Chris, joining the team!

A slight tweak on the first beer they designed and brewed together at SALT, "Answer is None".

Chocolate notes on the nose give way to sweet honey and biscuit malt.

Aromas of lime, pine, mango and mint hoppyness.

Can picked up online IIRC, split at the Wildling tasting, Hazlemere, 28/06/20. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a well presented khaki cap. Nose is dried berry fruits, pine needle, charr, dusty fruit rinds, leather. Taste comprises light charr, cocoa powder, pine dusting, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Tidy enough CDA.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from online. Pours deep brown with a lasting, frothy khaki head. Quite nice overall. Medium sweet flavour, with moderate roast, a little sweet cocoa, bitter ash, somewhat juicy tangerine and orange, burnt pine. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Nicely rounded finish, more ashy roast, bittersweet cocoa, a little alcohol warmth, more burnt pine, citrus accents. Solid.

Can at home in the garden, 24th May 2020. Pours black. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate. Taste is smooth and soft, light ash, light hops, not enough for a BIPA. It’s not distinct enough for me on the BIPA side, neither is is a hoppy stout. It’s a nice beer, not a black iPa

Can courtesy of Dad (cheers Dad!) Had this at home Attenkirchen, sat outside Frank (camper) at bottom of the drive, Friday 8th May 2020, nice day, listening to Cillian Murphy on 6Music, with a BBQ (just sausages) for tea tonight. Pours murky black with a creamy textured head. A hint of vanilla and herbs on the nose. Soft mouthfeel a little chocolate, honey, light very soft roastiness, light hoppiness, noticeable but not aggressive, digestive biscuits, . Good beer, in fact very interesting but not quite sure exactly what it is aiming to be.
