The flavoursome bottled Craft Shipwreck IPA is an Indian Pale Ale that is big and hoppy with lots of sweet tropical fruit notes. Not too bitter on the forefront with mellowed hop aromas due to long conditioning periods. A refreshing, tropical fruit aroma with a mellow floral hop character which leads to a dense hoppy body. A good bitterness develops alongside ripe, fruity notes, mellowing into a sweet finish.
Pay homage to a proper local hero and raise a glass of Shipwreck IPA to young John Honey. Johnny risked his life for five stricken sailors. It's the true spirit of St Andrews.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. The annual Harrisoni/madmitch76 walkabout. Bright clear gold beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light and fairly crisp but also quite dry. Light sweet malts and sweet floralness. Okay citric hops. Little peach. Dry finish. Decent.

From cask. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head. Aroma is fruity and slight toasted malt. Bitter, light fruity and toasted malt. Bitter and slight fruity finish.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2015 day 2. Clear golden coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is delicate berry fruit, light grainy, malt, faint alcohol and some English ready esters. Flavour is cimpose d of base malts, light biscuit, grassy and woodland berries. Palate is a little hot, semi sweet, decent cask condition. OK English IPA.

Clear lively golden beer with a decent frothy head and practically no aroma. Flavour is dry and bitter with a twist of fruit (pineapple maybe? ) to round it off a little. Crisp, clean and refreshing when served cold. It’s not spectacular but a very drinkable nicely balanced beer.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Low carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of orange marmalade, peach and syrup. Flavour of blood orange, malt and apricot. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Well rounded and very drinkable.

Cask at Cloisters. It pours clear golden with a small white head. The nose is toasty grain, peach, apricot, varnish and dough. The taste is bitter-sweet, grainy, peach, grapefruit peel, alcohol, pepper and dough with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A touch thin and boozy IMO. Ok

Hazy golden colour. Thick texture, light carbonation. Some peaches in syrup, orange peel and a light sharpness. Some bitter hoppiness tucked away in the finish.

Bottle at Craig’s tasting. Sweet dry bitter toffee, light fruit, light toffee nose. Bottle at the brewery. More floral flavours coming through, some pine.
