Keg at CASK. It pours cloudy dirty gold with a thick white head. The nose is doughy, farmyard, light manure, hay, dried grass, dull aniseed, light acidity, smoked cheese, touch of lemon and apple. The taste is crisp, tart, drying, lemon-lime, doughy, sherbet, yoghurt, lactic twang, wet grass, leave, funk and wood with a refreshingly dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Good balance. Drinks mighty easy also. Interesting and well made. Another good and unique offering from these guys.

Keg at CP&K, Pimlicoco, 13/03/15. Murky pineapple jus yellow with a decent off white covering. Nose is lemon rind, light wood smoke, straw, melon, touch of yeast, banana custard. Taste comprises damp wood, straw, vanilla, damp leaves, lemon rind, balsa wood, light funk, must, green berry, touch of acidity. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light puckerings. Refreshing linner with a touch of smoked wood.

Bottle. Nose is herbal with a salty soy, woody, alkali/sulphur smell (I guess this is the woodruff but I’ve never come across it before - I had it plain in Berlin). Taste is, like the Yakima sour, very, very lemony with a hint of green apple . There is an emerging herbal, sulphur, medicine almost aniseed note before returning to lemon. It’s an affable drink, but lacks depth. The sulphur is a little over powering as well.
