Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Very thin malts, a whiff of smoke. Dusty pithy hops bring touches of orange, grapefruit and citric peel. Light bitter floral finish. Thin and a little messy, not a good entry in this series.

Keg at Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Pours clear yellow with a white foam head. Not bad, a little grainy, with pale bready sugars and lemony hops. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly bitter on the finish with further pale bread, grains, lemon rind. OK.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Sparkling gold. Blotchy, thin, white head. It’s grassy, and grainy. Cereal. Straw. Some fruitiness behind that. Strawberry, mostly. Taste is light bitter, with cereal sweetness. Fairly clean palate. Bit of oiliness. Finishes long, light bitter. Possibly not as punchy as you’d expect from Weird Beard. Nicely hoppy on the burp, though!
