Bottle at GBBF '23, day 2 thanks to a Danny rot box raffle, 02/08/23. Chestnut brown with a beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is woody, oxidised, malt forward, toffee, vinous, soy sauce. Taste comprises fruit cake, dates, brown bread, toffee, herb, dried fruit esters. Medium plus bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. This has aged very well compared to other knackered examples from this era.

GBBF. Rot box special purchased by Dan. A mild haze on this amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Toffee caramel malts, a little thin cream. Rich ripe fruits, marmalade and raisan. A little spice. Light and semi dry finish. A really flavoursome rotter that is still standing tall. Impressive!

1977 vintage. A bit oxidized, heavy with prunes, raisins and malts. Has not aged super well, but still drinkable.

Bottle, shared by Martha and Dann. Hilariously good nick. Even had some lightly carbonation. Aromas of port and sherry, and some orange, bizarrely. Smooth and surprisingly clean mouthfeel. Rich sherry throughout. Delicious. Cheers.

Bottle shared at a chriso tasting in London - big thanks to Steve. Pours clear amber with a bubbly, off-white head. The nose has lots of rich, ripe and lightly oxidised fruits, stuff like dates and figs. Big sweet flavor with stewed, ripe berries, lots of fruitcake, bread, dates, plums. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Sweet finish with light alcohol warmth, plenty more ripe fruits, berries, syrupy figs. Lovely stuff.
