It’s a big fat imperial stout that was brewed on and in celebration of wf and hoppy people shared birthday. The extended ageing on red wine barrels has created complex aromas of dark forest fruit and sweet vanilla with a big finish of coconut and a subtle touch of alcohol warmth.

Bottle split at the last minute CBJ Tasting (big thanks Marcin for hosting), cheers to Adrian for this one, 13/07/23. Black with a khaki head that thins to the edge. Nose is dark malts, spice, charr, chocolate, dried red berries. Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate, spice, mellow roast, hint of coffee, dried fruit rinds. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a light kiss of alcohol. Okay sipper but firmly entrenched in 3rd gear.

Bottle shared in London / cheers to Tips. Pours rich brown with a foamy, beige head. Medium sweet flavour, ample barrel, earth, iodine, toast. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Soft warmth to finish, burnt toast, leathery dark fruits. Not bad.

deep dark brown colour, minimal beige lacing; aroma of red wine, some dark chocolate, coffee, some nutmeg and orange zesty notes; taste is the same with some piney hoppy-ness; great one!
