Our elegant and decadent My Continuous Improvement Stout has been aged in Marsala barrels before adding bitter orange peel and cacao nibs. The result is a beer that has fruity herbaceousness akin to Amaro liqueur, but that has a rounded and charred finish thanks to the addition of cacao.

Bottle at home picked up from Cloudwater online. A viscous jet black coloured pour with a fading dark tan head. Aroma is intense dark malts, dark chocolate, treacle, dark berries, spicy wood, port barrel notes. Oak spirals. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, thick chewy dark chocolate mouse, Salted caramel, dark berries, port wine notes, spicy notes,. Super rich and intense. Palate is medium sweet, full bodied, chewy, thick, mellow carbonation,. Light spicy wood barrel tickle in the finish. Lovely.

Panda thanks to Cloin: Poured a deep black with a khaki head. Aroma is toffee, chocolate, dark fruit, coffee, roasted malts, molasses. Taste is roasted malts, molasses, coffee, boosty, chocolate.

Bottle. Slick and rich. Nice bitter peel. Drinks a decent sipper but the base beer is too sickly to start, for me.

Bottle at home, from CW online, 14/12/22. Pitch black with a fast collapsing golden to khaki head. Nose is chocolate, herb, chai spice, marsala wine, dark fruit rinds, charr. Taste comprises dark chocolate, light spice, hint of coffee, mellow roast, marsala barrel, dried fruit rinds, fruit cake mix, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid well balanced BA impy stout ... not to sweet, a good light herby to roasted tone sets the scene.
