Bottle split at the Digital Shadow Tasting, thanks to Danny_Boyo, 13/07/22. Lightly hazed dirty red with a crimson cap. Nose is tangy berry fruits, vinous, wood must, hedgerow, bramble berries. Taste comprises fruit syrup, tannins, damp oak, herb, berry pips, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light acidic spike. It's okay but a touch sweet and syrupy for my liking in places ... expected more given the score it rides along with (4.09 prior to my rate).

Level 6 tasting. Cheers for the bottle. Light haze on this deep amber beer, decent pale tan head. Crisp dry palate. Thin crisp malts - good toffee caramel. Nice winey Forest Fruits. Light dry finish gets slightly acid. Nice.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Rad Beer. Pours clear, deep reddish purple with a moderate, foamy off-white head. Lightly sweet with wonderful depth, some rich red wine barrel, plum, ripe berries, mellow acidity, raspberry seeds. Medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Quenching finish, more strong red wine impressions, ripened berries, some oaky dryness. Finish is quite red wine-like, though with more pronounced acidity, berry tartness. Hints of warmth. Immensely drinkable. Top notch beer. I really love Brick sours, and the barrel ageing really takes it to another level. This isn't just Brick's best beer, it's probably one of the best beers I've had from a London brewer.
