Near opaque dark brown beer, decent bubbly dark tan head but pretty short lived. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation for the style. Smooth dark chocolate malts, a little creamy dark chocolate. Good fruitiness , the label claims cherry and I get that, I also get the soft coffee - not rich enough for a liqueur, as claimed, but pleasant. Smooth finish brings more mildly tangy fruits. A very well layered and pleasant straight Impy and very pleasant change not to be a BA or Pastry. Stands strong on it's own 2 feet.

Bottle split at the Watford Tasting, 11/03/22, thanks to Fergus. Black with a tan cap that clears to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, fruit cake, dates, mellow roast, nutty. Taste comprises rich roast, light charr, spice, toffee, chocolate, dried fruit rinds, figgy jam. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Decent well balanced old skool impy.

Bottle shared in Watford - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy tan head. Medium sweet flavour, some tar, charred malts, bitter dark chocolate, earth, raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more bittersweet cocoa, sturdy roast, scorched earth. Good toothy stout.
