Bottiglia.

Last beer of the day, Sunday 18th Apr 2021. Sunny and warm, having a mini-session with myself on the patio after cutting my lawns and tidying the garden a bit. 440ml can (9.3% ABV) from Beer52. Very black body, lightly tanned head. Nice malty brew with chocolate flavours to the fore, good way to finish my six beer tastings.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, some caramel, treacle, a minimally spicy touch of gingerbread, weak ashy overtones. Taste is slightly dry, roasty, chocolately, dark malty, minimally ashy and spicy, subtle sweetness, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, a touch of gingerbread, treacle, a yeasty fruity touch of blueberry; slightly dry, minimally ashy finish. Creamy to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. A massive Stout, yes, but not that rich and massive compared to other Impy Stouts. Nevertheless full of quality, well balanced, harmonious, well crafted and simply tasty; and, I appreciate this, not blowing your lights out for the rest of evening due to an abv considerably below 10% - good!

Can from Cloudwater online shop. Black body with a thin tan head that fades. Patchy lacing. Aroma of coffee, Marmite and hazelnut. Flavour of soy sauce and roasted malt. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Decent but a bit too thin.

8/5/2020. Can sample courtesy of the SHIG, cheers! Pours very dark with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nut, toffee, dark fruit and molasses. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Enjoyable. 14/12/2020. Bottle from Seven Seasons, Hoxton. Similar score but aroma more fruity with blackberry and blackcurrant, and a slight tart fruit edge. Again enjoyable though differently.
