Bottle direct from Kernel. It pours jet black with a thick & foamy rich tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred oak, burnt toast, umami, liquorice, dark chocolate, rocky road, some sabro tropical vibes, dark chocolate covered coconut, roasted pineapple, dried fruits and toasted fruit cake. The taste is dry and bitter upfront, dark roasted malt, charred vibes, toothy, umami, salted liquorice, premium dark chocolate, burnt toast, snap of spice, earth, coffee, espresso, touch of tropical fruits, coconut water, bitter citrus peel and grapefruit with a lingering bitter dark roasted finish. Fulsome body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Robust with a great depth of flavour. A most satisfying beverage.

Bottle (5.7% ABV) from House Of Trembling Madness. Block body with a thick beige head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blueberry, lemongrass and peanuts. Flavour of lightly roasted malt and blueberry. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Tangy and interesting. Not my favourite hop combination for this beer style.

Birthday beer on the train back from Inverness, thanks to the Wingman, 11/10/21. Black with a good sized lasting tan cap. Nose is mellow roast, charr, burnt toffee, dried fruit rinds, cocoa dusting. Taste comprises roasted bite, charr, cocoa powder, light coconut, raisins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a trace of dusty Sabro laden hop bitterness. Solid porter.
