As this little brewery tucked away in a tiny corner of North Wales continues to grow not only in size, but in reputation to boot, we're beginning to find that things are being opened up to us unlike anything we've experienced before. When our hop merchant mentioned to us an experimental hop earlier in the year that would become available to us around late summer time, we were hooked in instantly; and what better way to showcase this in a single hop, DDH pale ale? Exp. 630 uses Yakima Chief's HBC 630 - a still-unnamed experimental hop that absolutely bursts with sweet raspberry, cherry and tropical notes, almost smoothie-like in character. Perfect for one of our thick, intense DDH Pales.

Can. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry and has a good fine minerally crispness. Light malts, a light creamy sweetness. The delivery of HBC630 hops here, is an eye opener. The hop character leaps out. Kinda melony mandarin with crisp pine and candy fruits coming on strong on the back end, especially berry candy. Just a trace of soft skunk on the crisp finish. Best delivery of HBC630 I've had. This hop is different.

Panda thanks to Cloin: Poured a hazy yellow orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is sticky fruits, hops, citrus, tropical, very aromatic. Taste is fruity, citrus, melon, tangy, hops bittering as well, but fruit dominant.

Can at home, from an online peddler of whose name I'm not certain, 06/10/21. Hazed orange yellow with a good sized lasting white head. Nose is bitter orange, bready malts, pine nip, ripe melon, grass, mixed tropical fruit esters. Taste comprises bitter orange, pine needle, grass, melon, grapefruit, toasted malts, ripe tropicana. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Solid juice laden and flavoursome pale with a good bitter edge.
