Our new seasonal offering is a tribute to Saint Mars, the month of March and the namesake of them all - the Roman god Mars, the guardian of agriculture. Beer is a collaboration between humans and nature, and with Spring on the cusp of appearing, we present Biere de Mars. Inspired by French and Belgian brewing traditions, a light bodied yet malty golden ale with notes of stone fruit, berries, a soft leafy bitterness and saturated with fruity and leafy hops (Saaz, Crystal).

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from All Good Beer. Pours clear, glowing honey-gold with a frothy, white head. Medium sweet, nice bready malts, sun-kissed biscuits, light yeast expression, golden raisins, a bit of straw. Light to medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, more layered bready malts, yeast, toasted sugars. Delicious stuff.

Can. Greenshop Bottle Shop, Sheffield. Soft haze on a deep, orangey, gingery gold. Fine and dense just off white head stays the course. Nose has nettle leaf. Tea. Fruited tea loaf. A bit of ginger biscuit, spicy malt. Some sweaty yeast. Taste has a fruity, estery sweetness first off, turning a little dry, with a spicy, leafy bitterness. Light to medium body with fine, sharp carbonation. Finishes with some dryness and a lingering spicy bitterness. Very SMOD.
