Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours deep brown with pretty much no head. The nose is roasty, earthy, fresh paint, plastic, dirt, composite and petroliferous notes. The taste is flat, bitter, earthy astringency, tar, charred stuff, glue, paint-stripper, plastic and cocoa. Medium body, low/no carbonation and chewy/oily mouth-feel. Quite a lot wrong going on here, with not much redeeming factors. Plain bad.

Bottle shared in London. Pours oily black with just a few brown bubbles. The nose holds lots of tar, dried dark fruits, some varnish, cocoa, grapes. Light-medium sweet flavor with lots of oils, char, wood, earth, glue, molasses. Full bodied, flat, oily, chewy. Warm and bitter on the finish, more glue, wood, earth. Overly tannic, a bit astringent. Hints of smoke. Some definite flaws here.

Bottle shared at Leightons pre Christmas tasting. Muddy dark brown coloured pour small fleeting dark tan head. Aroma is solvent paint, some caramel, burnt toffee. Flavour is composed of oily paint, tarty berry, dark choc malts, balsamic, salty soy, Palate is completely dead, no carbonation oily on the tongue. Really bad.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Black beer lasting bubbly tan head. Intense chocolate and liquorice aroma. Thick and oily in the mouth. Virtually no condition. Some dark syrup flavour. More liquorice and chocolate and dark malts in the mouth. Not much fruit not much hop. It’s a thick oily malty molasses and liquorice impy stout. OK but the condition is almost non existant.
