Looks brown but tastes fruity and pale! A depth of flavour and aroma driven by lots of US hops.

Handpull cask at the Criterion, Leicester. Mid-brown with a ruddy hue. Very thin-looking, with a small layer of beige head. Woody and chocolate notes on the nose, with some vegetal hints as well. Bittersweet taste with sweeter caramel notes appearing here and there. Very boozy in the finish. Decent enough but not a great drink.

Cask at the Victoria, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear dark copper colour with a long lasting frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, light citrus fruit hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a smooth grainy earthy malt, nutty, woody floral hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Amber-brown with a small head. Hoppy-sweet, which subdues its strength somewhat and there’s a good slightly stewed fruitiness that lingers.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Furnace Inn. Clear dark red-brown body. Patchy head, spotty lacing. Dark brown malty aromas, hints of dried fruits. Rather rich and well blended taste of chocolate malts and pine followed by a rounded malt bitter tail. Fine bodied. Tasty (Derby 18.02.2016).

Fra fat på Furnace i Derby 18 Feb 16. Delt med Rune. Mørk brun. Luftig skum langs glasset. Utmerket plommearoma. Smaken er balansert mellom malt & sitrus.

Cask at The Furnace, Derby, Saturday 17th January 2015 Interestingly they had this on keg and on cask dispense I went for the latter (cheaper) Brown in colour with a slim scummy off-white head. Malty and hoppy nose. In the mouth this is an in intriguing mix between malt and hops, very flavoursome hops with a tropical edge to them. Bitterness levels are good but so is the malty backbone, like it, but New World is still better. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
