Poured from 500mL can (thanks fiulijn). Slightly hazy amber brown with off white head and touch of sediment. Lots of fig and stone fruit, caramel malt, quite sweet, very feint hint of port, but more of a sweet bomb. Since it's older, it's not as cloying, but still quite sweet.

Deep amber with a rich beige head. Sweet dark caramel, burnt sugars and barrel notes. Woody, toffee, dark sugars, raisin and some other nice dark fruit. Quite nice.

Sweet, assertive port, sticky amber malts, big, bit boozy and definitely sticky.

Can at Weathered, pours a clear dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly hot, with subdued vinous notes and bready caramel. Flavour is caramely upfront, with the port barrels showing up further back. Very low sweetness for a barley wine - the wood seems to have captured some of it. Good stuff.

Taster on Weathered. Appearance: a bit hazy copper with a tan head. Aroma: some sweet port character. Taste: along the same lines, with hoppy bitterness. Overall: pretty good.

Can from the brewery
It pours the usual red-dark amber colour. Sweet and full bodied, mild malt flavour, it doesn't have the malt depth of the usual Thor's Hammer, but it has a very good caramel flavour, and light vinous touch.
Very good American Strong Ale
