A light ruby colour little head little lacing. Aroma is dark fruits and hops and malts. Taste is red fruits malts and a good hop kick with dry bitter finish.

Bottle from Morrisons and drunk at home. Now this is one of my favourite styles in the world. I love a good American Red Ale. Any this isn’t one. It’s an ok inoffensive beer, but it’s a bit insipid, lacking the requisite big grapefruit American hops. A very safe boring tamed down version. Nor does it have the rich fruit malt. I mean as a beer it’s ok, but as an American Red Ale it’s rubbish, nothing like it. So do I rate on it as a beer or a style? As a beer of course, who cares about styles? So a 3.0/5

Red-brown colour. Has some sweeter caramel malts and a light hop background. Moderately dry finish.

500ml Bottle: BBD 31 Aug 14, poured twice into an old ’Home Ales’ countryman half-pint glass at home on 18 Oct 13. Looks fine, a clear Redwood colour with an off-white head of uneven foam on each pour. Thin aroma: some malty molasses, but nothing strong enough to stand out, toffee and caramel hints but weak. The body is fairly thin and the flavours within aren’t powerful enough: some malt traces and a semi-bitter hop undertone. Expected more from one of my favourite breweries. I know it’s a Supermarket brew, but it didn’t do justice to the brewery, I do however agree that it would go well with a good Pie (with Mushy Peas).

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Chestnut with a loose cream head; caramel araoma; soft earthy malty body, with a sweetish carmael taste; and a reasonable English hop bitterness to finish. A reasonable bitter.
