On tap. Pours a dull amber with light head. Belgian triple with emphasis on malts before yeast. Some fruity eaters. Not getting much barrel influence.

Poured from the tap. Very light haze, golden with white head. Belgian yeast, a fair bit of bourbon barrel, a little bit of candi sugar. Quite nice.

Golden colour, with some haze, and a thick head. Looks quite attractive. More of a stickier tripel aroma, and with a lot of bourbon. The base seems decent, but I don’t know how well the barrel is going to play with the base. It’s pretty boozy, and sticky. So it’s this whole thing is a weird idea that I don’t understand, and on the palate it does seem like a rough barrel and the tripel seems a bit heavy.

750mL bottle, pours a clear dull golden with a medium white head. Nose brings out a nice combo of classic Belgian tripel yeast character, with plenty of bourbon, and some candi sugar -- unusual mix that smells nice. Flavour is surprisingly cohesive, with lots of vanilla, moderate bourbon; then the Belgian yeast follows, imparting some candi sugar, some esters. The alcohol presence is felt, but it's not too detracting. On paper, this shouldn't work -- the few bourbon barrel aged tripels I've had have been perfumey disasters. But this is done quite well. The combination of usually disparate flavours works well together. Surprisingly excellent.

This bottle was leaking; the colour is dull blonde, hazy, with barely any head. Aroma of bread, and bourbon, yeast spice. Good body, moderately sweet, slick Belgian Ale, with bold bourbon flavour, and booze. This bottle was off, but it's still pleasant, giving some extra points on trust.

750ml (thx. Riley!) shared with Alex at Andrey's. Appearance: hazy straw with a white head. Aroma: classic Belgian Tripel with noticeable bourbon notes. Taste: along the same lines, quite boozy. Overall: it's good for what it is, but I don't understand, though, why would you need to waste bourbon barrels on aging tripels in them?
