Tap at Erzbierschof. Strong bourbon and maple, a bit dusty. Boozy and strong, but well done at the same time. Nice

Draft 12 Oz pour at the Hop and Hound. Rating #2008, the year that brought us Big Al brewing here in Seattle. Muddy brown pour with a thin fizz head. This beer actually blows my mind. Syrup soaked pancake like arma, a bit nutty with a malt background. Flavor is nutty up front, but has a maple syrup pancake lingering finish that matches to a point. I love nape syrup. Delicious. A bit of a cool finish to it. Not as sweet as I expected a beer with sugar in their name to be. Not a massive amount of bourbon, but it’s definitely there. If this wasn’t a near double digit abv I could drink this all day. Incredible, amazing, and every other great adjective for this beer. Loved it.

On tap at the Beer Baron. It pours a hazy dark amber color with a lasting foamy, khaki head. The aroma has lots of brown sugar, nuts, hints of cherry and cola. The flavor is richer and sweeter with big pecan presence, brown sugar, hints of cherry and bourbon. Very sweet pie-like finish with some oak. Not too thick bodied. Pretty solid stuff for a kitchen sink style beer.

Tap at the California Brewers Showcase Festival. Pours dark brown with a slight head. The aroma is indeed maple. Near full bodied. Flavor is maple sugar and treacle. It’s not sticky, but might be great on vanilla ice cream! Finishing with some hints of bourbon. Extremely tasty.

Keg at the Taphouse CPH, Day 3 of RBESG ’15, 22/08/15. Lightly hazed amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is sweet, maple notes, sticky toffee pudding, sweet malts. Taste comprises maple syrup, toffee fudge, carmelised brown sugar, pecan pie. Medium + body, fone carbonation, light bourbon and a boost to be had in the close. Decent enough stronge.

Craft Islington. Keg. Almost clear deep red - amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth with decent fine caronation. Sweet nutty - caramel - spicy nose. Smooth sweet malts, fair bit of caramel and sugary pecan. Cinnamon also fairly abundant. Any bourbon barrel character lost under the sugar and spice. Light finish. Nicely flavouree but after about a third of a pint, it starts to get chewy.
