Negen is a biere de coupage, a blend of fresh and aged beers. We brewed a saison and fermented it for eight months with a mixed culture of yeast, brettanomyces and bacteria. We then blended the aged beer with a freshly brewed saison, and dry-hopped the blend with Slovenian hops before bottling. The resulting beer is tart and very dry, but also fresh and hoppy.

Blond colour, sun and green hue, chill haze, small head. Nice aroma of bugs, and mild bread/yeast. Dry, but with a good body and mouthfeel; strong mineral character, light sulfur, nice bugs, Brett, a bit salty, lemon peel; and moderate acidity.
Very good.

750ml on Alex's deck. Appearance: slightly hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma: bugs, farmhouse notes, some lemony notes. Taste: very carbonated, lots of manure, bugs. Tastes MUCH BETTER with dregs. Overall: refreshing, quite nice. It maybe lacks some sophistication a bit, but it could come over time. Probably need to grab another 3 bottles and age it.

750 ml bottle. Pours gold with light head. Aromas of soft candied lemon, coriander, wheat and perfumey hops. Flavors follow same. Seems quite different from other Dageraad offerings and much more summertime Belgian, with witbier influence. Good stuff.

Re-rate: poured from the tap. Hazed blonde with minimal white head. Woody, mild brett, similar to before, but slightly more complex. Should try this in a bottle. June 2, 2023 (7/4/7/4/15=3.7): Poured from the tap @ The Magnet. Hazed blonde gold with small white head. Underlying mild brett with very feint wood, a decent mixed ferm.

On tap at Dageraad, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a nice rustic saison yeast profile with some age on it (a touch of old furniture) and a hint of earthiness. Flavour is sharp and quite pronounced on that yeast profile, with plenty of old furniture, rustic farmhouse notes, and gentle acidity. Nice blend of old and new, finishing balanced and quite expressive. Very good.
