Notes from 4/20/19 On tap at Maui Brewing in Kihei. Pint glass pour. Clear, golden amber. Thin head. Smells of solid, everyday ale with an added wild flower whiff. Taste is dry malt, mild to moderate bitter green hops, light florals. Snappy carbonation. Needs more honey.

On tap at Maui Brewing - Waikiki, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of honey and some bready malt. Flavour has plenty of unfermented honey upfront, with little else. Useless.

On tap at CBB Bud. This Amber Ale pours a clear orange gold. A nice fruity nose with crackery graham light malts. Clean light blond ale with peach/apricot then crisp light malts. Simple yet satisfying.

Keg at Maui Brewing Co Brewpub (and also a few days later at Hula Grill for which it is the house beer), 23/04/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering that stays for the show. Nose is pale malts, light citric injection, spice, straw, floral tones, perfume, honey. Taste comprises light spice, honey well evident, light caraml vein, citric notes, vanilla. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, does what it says on the tin re: honey, nothing I’d rush back for mind!

Shaker pint draft at the Hula Grill on Kaanapali Beach in Maui (this beer is brewed exclusively for Hula Grill / Barefoot Bar - though I also saw it on draft at the MBC Brewpub). The pour is clear golden with a bit of a white head. The aroma is a touch of honey, sweet malt and a touch of dry earthiness. The taste is pretty sweet, the honey (not cloying, just big natural honey) and the sweetness of the malt join forces to become the dominant flavor. The earthy hops are present in the back, though are a flat and bitter. The palate is light to medium bodied, fairly low carbonation level, and a dry earthy finish. The honey is present, and moves this beer out of my personal taste preference.
