Landslide is a well hopped American Brown Ale that is a modern interpretation of traditional British Brown Ales. A blend of four different malts gives a show stopping deep reddish brown colour with an inviting roasted malt aroma. A mix of four bold Pacific hops add prominent notes of jammy fruits with a hint of citrus and smooth bitterness.

Draft. A brown ale with a light tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and a bit of fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bisquits, malt, and a bit of fruit, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Islington. Musty grassy aroma. Darkest chestnut. Thick off-white head. A muted bitterness. Spice + seaweed? Or piss, to qoute me mate. Light-medium bodied. Thin. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Three of us all thought this had a hint of a WC to it. Hmm...

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, copper-ish brown-ish, ruby red colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, beige head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of red berries, a touch of resin and raisin, sweet-ish, nuttily malty background with a touch of nougat and toffee. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally soapy, a touch of red berries, papery hints of raisin, disguised weak malty basis with nuttily undertones; increasing fruitiness in the finish. Expectations arisen from the auspicious aroma sadly aren’t fulfilled in taste.

I got a big order in from World Beer Market, so I need to drink beers until they all fit in my fridges as it is still a bit warm... Fyne Ales Landslide. I had no idea this was 6% and a hoppy brown, the nose is intensely aromatic hoppiness of the floral & perfumey variety with an underlying chocolate biscuit maltiness. Light bodied for 6-percenter but taste-wise this is actually pretty good. I’m not a big fan of brown ales but this mix of bitter fruity hops and malty biscuity cocoa works well.
