25/VIII/18 - sample @ BXL Beer Festival - BB: n/a (2018-1110) Thanks to the Belgian and Dutch Ratebeer crews for sharing today's beers!
Pretty cloudy bright orange beer, no head. Aroma: fruity, very fruity, bit funky, little dirty, floral, decent stuff. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty fruity, nice acidity, hoppy bitterness, lovely tropical fruit notes, I like it! Aftertaste: pretty dry, fruity, funky, nice one!

Tap at Moeder Lambic Original. Hazy golden orange, low, fine mousse, bubbly. Lemony, dusty, leather. Mikd funk. Flavor is more bretty and funky, lots of lemon and grapefruit zesr and some pith. Good carbonation brings the citrus out well. Delicious summer quencher and really does approximate a lambic IPA. Interesting to sort out the hops from the acid citrus. Hops flavor comes out more in the finish, I think.

On tap at Moeder Lambic Fonteinas. A hazy golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of apples, mid bitter hops, straw and grains. Taste of mild tart apples, dry soft grassy hops, apricot, grapes, interesting and nice.

At Moeder Fontainas. Hazy golden with white head. Gooseberries, sour grains, lemon, grapefruit, lots of dank hops and dry citrus peel, elderflower soft funk and more sour grains. So much grapefruit. Medium sour, just medium bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied. I really like it.

Tap at Moeder Fontainas. Hazy golden with white head. Dryhopped mamouche. Fruity, floral and herbal, grassy. Moderate sweet and bitter, sour. The lambic is strong in this one. But so is the elderflower herbal and fruitiness. Very near perfect beer for me. Medium body and soft carbonation.

0,25l from tap at Moeder Lambic shared by me. Dark yellow hazy colour, small white head. Smells earthy, citric, leathery, grassy, light fruit notes. Decent smell. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes citric, earthy, spices, peppery, grassy, bit musty, leathery, some ripe fruits. Finishes lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of citrus, spices and peppery notes. Smell was ok, taste is lots better though.
