500ml (thx, Kevin G.!) @ Ryan's shared with Brian. Appearance: very dark brown with some beige head. Aroma: loads of vanilla, nice American oak, some dark chocolate. Quite sophisticated. Taste: moderately sweet and thick, lots of vanilla, some chocolate, earthiness from vanilla beans notes, brown sugars. I would prefer this one to be more smooth and silky. Overall: it's good, but IMHO it's still not worth the hype.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Near black with small beige head. Nice vanilla character, soft chocolate underlay, very mild bourbon barrel, smooth and balanced.

Smooth and sweetish with loads of vanilla beans, hints of rye, some bourbon, toffee, syrup, chocolate and oak. Not super thick but still quite tasty and balanced

Bottle. Pours deep opaque near black, tiny tan head, no real lacing. Aroma has notes of vanilla fudge, bourbon; whoah, it really is fudge. Flavor is medium plus sweet, light bitter; a kiss of vanilla on a fudgy beer tempered by light bourbon notes. Full body, flat. Suffers a bit for the lack of carbonation, but still a fine beverage.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with really nice chocolate notes and lighter roast character. Medium light vanilla notes with lighter notes of bourbon and oak and hints of almond. Light alcohol notes. Pours jet black with a medium small, thick, mocha colored head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is rather sweet with lots of dark and bitter chocolate malt notes. Lighter notes of caramel and hints of roast. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light bourbon notes and hints of almond, oak and faint notes of raisin and dark fruit. Mouthfeel is rather full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice BA stout. The barrel character and vanilla works well the chocolate forward, malt character. Alcohol is fairly well hidden.
